Spalted Maple Bowl

Spalted Maple Bowl

A wide, shallow bowl turned from a single piece of spalted hard maple. The black "spalt" lines were left by fungus that worked through the wood as it dried — a happy collaboration with time. The form is intentionally restrained so the grain can do the talking.

Hand-finished with food-safe walnut oil and beeswax. Safe for dry goods.
